Your progress in Maneater is tied to your Infamy Rank. By increasing your Infamy Rank, you are able to fight different bosses and progress through the game. The game, however, does not do a good job when it comes to increasing it. In this guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know about how to increase your Infamy Rank in Maneater.
In Maneater, your Infamy Rank and Threat Level are directly connected to one another. To check the Infamy Rank you are currently sitting on, go to the “Infamy” tab in the Main Menu and check your rank on the left side of the screen along with a meter that shows how far are you from the next rank. In order to increase your Infamy Rank, you will first need to increase your Threat Level. As I mentioned earlier, both of these things are connected.
Increasing Infamy Rank
To increase your Infamy Rank in Maneater, the first thing that you will need to do is to increase your Threat Level. It is something you will automatically achieve as you progress through the game.
To summarize it in a few sentences: you increase your Threat Level by posing a threat to others. This can be done by wrecking boats, eating humans, and killing Bounty Hunters whenever you get a bounty on your head. Continue to do these monstrosities and soon your Threat Level will go through the roof. Killing the Bounty Hunters is where increasing your Infamy Rank comes into play. Whenever a Bounty Hunter starts chasing you, you need to destroy his/her boat and kill. Doing this will increase the bounty on your head and if you continue to do so, you will attract the attention of a Hunter Leader. The first of these is Bayou Willy.
You can think of Hunter Leaders as Maneater’s main bosses. There are 8 in total and you must kill them in order to increase your Infamy Rank in the game. Summing things up, in order to increase your Infamy Rank in Maneater:
- Destroy boats and kill humans
- Kill the Bounty Hunters sent to catch you
- Kill the Hunter Leaders
