On November 22, the US Mission in Vietnam announced that it was looking for candidates for the Tech Girls 2022 Scholarship Program.
This scholarship program selects female students who have good English proficiency and study in the 10th and 11th grades of Vietnamese high schools.
Candidates should also be interested in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and plan to study at a college or university or pursue a career in a technical field. .
In addition, selected candidates must demonstrate leadership skills through academic performance, contributions to the community, and extracurricular activities.
This is an exchange program sponsored by the Department of Culture and Education of the U.S. State Department to connect and support the next generation of female leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This goal is achieved by providing female candidates with opportunities to improve their skills and pursue their dreams.
In 2022, 136 female students from 37 countries and regions and 25 female students from the United States will participate in a 4-week American experience and 7-month tutoring program (including pre- and post-graduation). Karma). Complete the scholarship program).
If possible, the program will be carried out at Virginia Tech from July to August 2022. The selected candidates will participate in computer and interactive technology training camps. They will then be sent to one of Austin, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, Portland or Seattle to intern at a technology company.
In addition, the girls will experience the life and social activities of Native American families. After completing the course in the United States, the students will design and implement a project for the local community after returning home.
The US State Department will fund all expenses, including project management, domestic and international travel, accommodation, study materials and other living expenses. The American Experience Program will be conducted in accordance with all necessary safety guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state, local governments, and schools.
