Fishing is not only an incredibly fun activity, but it also has its uses in Sea of Thieves. It can be done in any waterbody but the type of fish depends on the location and bait used. In this Sea of Thieves article, we will walk you through everything you need to know about fishing in the game.

Sea of Thieves Fishing
There are different types of fish in the game – some are specific to specific locations. Once reeled in, you can trade them for gold or cook it. Its value depends on the size and how well it is cooked. The reputation tab in Hunter’s Call shows you all the different types of fish and the conditions they can be reeled in.

Using Bait
As mentioned earlier, there are some types of fish that can only be caught by using bait. Simply check the reputation tab to learn more about the requirements of catching different types of fish. You can use Earthworms, Grubs, and Leeches as bait which can be found from grass, sand, and shorelines respectively.

How to Fish
After you have found an appropriate spot, cast your line and let the fish bite. When it does, the camera will lock and the controls will switch to the rod.

While playing on the PC, make sure to pay attention to the sound of wood being snapped. If it does, it means you are reeling in the wrong direction. As soon as you notice that a fish has done so, start pulling away the rod in the opposite direction in which the fish is swimming. If you notice the fish moving, stop reeling for a while, and then resume.

How to Cook Fish
If you want to cook fish, put it in the frying pan and take it out before it gets burnt. While cooking, it can be cooked, undercooked, perfectly cooked, and burnt. A perfectly cooked fish should be golden-brown in color with white eyes.
