With hundreds of different weapons, armors, and items in Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord it can be hard to see what the best ones are.
Using cheats, we found the best items in the games database and compiled a list of the best ones.
Some of these items may be hard to find in-game or are possibly unobtainable at this time. Nevertheless, these items are in the game in some way, shape, or form and deserve a spot here.
Here are the best armor, weapons, and equipment in Bannerlord.
Best One-Handed Weapon in Bannerlord
The best one handed weapon is a sword, specifically the Thamaskene Steel Spatha. It has great range and excellent damage. It is fairly expensive, but worth every piece of gold.
Best Two-Handed Weapon in Bannerlord
The best two-handed weapon is another Thamaskene weapon, the Thamaskene Steel Two-Hander. This weapon has as much range as the one-handed version, but features a better swing speed and way more damage.
It’s swing damage is 40 points higher than the one-handed version. If you choose to not use a shield, this two-handed weapon is for you.
Best One-Handed Polearm in Bannerlord
If you want to use a shield and a polearm the Fine Steel Hewing Spear is the way to go. It has decent damage, great reach, and good speed. It’s the best polearm to use with a shield!
Best Two-Handed Polearm in Bannerlord
If you don’t care for shields, the Rhomphalia is the way to go. It has slightly less reach than the spear above, but has way more damage at a whopping 169 per swing! That’s enough to make any infantry unit turn and run!
Best Thrown Weapon in Bannerlord
With 5 of these bad boys you’ll be able to take even the strongest of enemy units. Or you can just use it as a one-handed weapon if you don’t want to throw them just yet.
The Jereed is the best throwing weapon in Bannerlord. It has great damage and accuracy and there are 5 of them compared to say the Southern Throwing Daggers, another top-tier throwing weapon.
The throwing daggers only come in stacks of 3 while the Jereeds come in stacks of 5.
Best Bow in Bannerlord
The best bow in Bannerlord is the Noble Long Bow. It has the best stats out of all the bows and requires 70 in the Bow skill to be able to wield it.
It is also extremely expensive which leads us to believe it is unobtainable and simply used by various NPCs on the map.
We have also not seen it for sale in stores, but it is the best bow in the game and we hope to find it or that the devs allow it to be bought and sold.
Best Arrows in Bannerlord
Piercing Arrows are the best arrows in Bannerlord. Unfortunately, they do not come in a large stack like the other arrow types.
Due to this, we suggest that you use the Bodkin arrows with the higher stack size since you’ll be able to do more damage throughout the whole fight and not just in one shot.
Best Crossbow in Bannerlord
As of writing this, the crossbow skill tree doesn’t seem to be fully fleshed out with only a few crossbows available in the whole game and only one appearing for sale in cities at a massive price.
With that being said, the Bound Crossbow is the best one included in the game files. It’s not much better than the others, but it is better which earns it the spot on this list.
Best Shield in Bannerlord
The Steel Round Shield has the best speed and hit points when it comes to shields in game.
Best Helmet in Bannerlord
This helmet might look familiar. If you’ve talked to a lot of lords in the game you’ll notice some of them wear this very helmet.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that it is the best helmet in the game providing a whopping 58 head armor!
Best Cape/Shoulder Armor in Bannerlord
Some players forget about the cape slot since Warband didn’t have it, but it provides a nice boost to body and arm armor.
The best item you can put in the cape slot are the Highland Warlord Pauldrons which provide a bonus 20 body armor and 10 arm armor. They also look pretty damn cool!
Best Body Armor in Bannerlord
It can be hard in the beginning to find new gear. We feel like sometimes we go weeks without looting an upgrade or finding one in a shop, but there are upgrades out there.
The Imperial Scale Armor is the best body armor you can find in Bannerlord. It provides an impressive 50 body armor and 20 to both leg and arm armor. This armor will make most strikes feel like punches from a baby.
Best Arm Armor in Bannerlord
The Lamellar Plate Gauntlets are the best arm armor money can buy in Bannerlord (or loot). If you are wearing the best in slot items you can have a impenetrable 62 arm armor!
Best Leg Armor in Bannerlord
The best leg armor comes from the Lamellar Plate Boots. There isn’t much in Bannerlord when it comes to armor that provides defense for your legs.
We hope they add more options in as the devs continue their updates to the early access version.
Best Horse Armor in Bannerlord
If you have an empire setup or are a caravan/workshop mogul, maybe you’ll be able to afford the most expensive horse armor in the game.
Imperial Scale Barding gives your horse 67 armor if you can afford the nearly 250,000 gold price tag!
