XCOM Chimera Squad is out now and the Ironman difficulty is an extremely difficult setting in which you play on a single save. This is risky as you can fail the entire campaign with one wrong move. In this XCOM Chimera Squad guide, we are going to tell you how you can activate the Ironman difficulty in the game.
How To Activate Ironman Difficulty In XCOM Chimera Squad
If you have played the previous XCOM games then there is a chance that you already know about the Ironman difficulty modifier. It is also available in the new game. You can enable it at the start of the new campaign. The following are the rules of the difficulty setting:
Only one save slot available
You cannot have more than one save. You will not be able to go back and mend mistakes on the screen of City 31.
A single server will be created by the game automatically and will also be automatically updated
This means that manual saves will be unavailable.
Failing a mission
If you fail a mission then the whole campaign is not lost. You can repeat the mission. This includes all the encounters of the mission.
If the XCOM Chimera Squad Ironman difficulty is not hard enough then you can turn things to 11 with the Hardcore modifier. With this modifier on, you cannot replay missions if you fail them. Failing a mission means that you need to start the campaign from the start. If you fail the campaign then the game is going to delete the saves from that campaign. You could call it permadeath.
That is all for our XCOM Chimera Ironman modifier guide.
